Education

At YORO, we prioritize providing equitable access to quality education, particularly for marginalized and disadvantaged groups.

We work towards fostering critical thinkers, creativity, and problem solving skills to empower individuals and communities to participate fully in societal development and decision-making processes.

By concentrating efforts within this thematic area, we contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty, promoting social inclusion, and driving sustainable development by ensuring that education becomes a fundamental tool for positive change in societies worldwide.

At present, in partnership with EDC, we are implementing the USAID’s Youth Empowerment Project in three training centers i.e., Merkolong Primary School, Juba Day Secondary School, and St, Michael Primary School.

The USAID Youth Empowerment Activity aims to improve equitable access to knowledge and skills for South Sudanese youth ages 15 to 29. Youth in the Youth Empowerment Activity will apply these skills to lead healthier, more productive lives, build livelihoods, and contribute to the social cohesion, economic recovery, and
development of their communities

The USAID YEA’s objectives are improved access to functional literacy, numeracy, soft, and life skills. Expanded opportunities for building livelihoods, trade, and
entrepreneurship skills. Increased support for positive behavior changes among youth and to cultivate equitable gender norms. Improved sacral cohesion among youth and their communities through youth led civic engagement and participation that addresses community needs.
